Total solar eclipse

In August 1999 a solar eclipse moved over Europe. It was complete in a small band from the tip of French Normandy to the east-north-east. All of Europe went out on that single day to get a glimpse of the totality.

The weather was horribly cloudy almost everywhere in western Europe, but some patches of clear sky were located in the right areas. I went out together with a colleague on tertiary roads into France (bigger roads were completely clogged up anyway). It was cloudy almost all the time, but like a miracle, the sun with corona appeared between thin clouds during the whole time of the totality, and I managed to take this shot with my digital video camera.
